Grand Teton National Park - Part II

Grand Teton National Park is a National Park located in western Wyoming, south of Yellowstone National Park. The park is named after Grand Teton, which at 13,770 feet, is the tallest mountain in the Teton Range.

While Catherine and I were visiting Yellowstone National Park, we took a day and went to Grand Teton National Park.

Grand Teton National Park

The pictures ENLARGE if you click on them.After Catherine and I left Jackson, Wyoming we continued our drive to Grand Teton National Park on our way to Yellowstone.

Grand Teton National Park is a National Park located in western Wyoming, south of Yellowstone National Park. The park is named after Grand Teton, which at 13,770 feet, is the tallest mountain in the Teton Range.

The Teton Range is part of the Rocky Mountains and rises directly from the floor of Jackson Hole without any intervening foothills. Jackson Hole is a 55 mile long by 6 to 13 mile wide valley that has an average elevation of 6,800 feet.





There were lots of buffalo (American Bison) were walking along the roadway and seemed undisturbed by the presence of cars.

Trip to Yellowstone National Park

Catherine and I flew to Salt Lake City, rented a car, and started driving towards Yellowstone National Park. I was happy to be back on the road.
Along the way we saw great scenery, including the Logan Canyon and Bear Lake.

The small town of Afton, Wyoming claims to have the "World's Largest Elkhorn Arch". The arch contains over 3,000 elk antlers.

Jackson is a town located in the Jackson Hole valley of Teton County, Wyoming. There are large arches of shed elk antlers at the entrances to the town square.

We had a great meal at the Snake River Grill in Jackson, Wyoming. It is a steak and seafood restaurant.
