Washington DC - At Christmas
Pictures enlarge if you click on them.
Catherine and I took vacation time and went to see Washington DC at Christmas using free air miles from Southwest airlines. I have been to Washington DC many times on business and for pleasure and Catherine visited there once without me, but we had never been there together. You can see the "People's Tree" in front of the Capital Building.
This memorial inside the Union Station in Washington DC includes the name of my Uncle Ernest L. Russ. I knew him as Uncle Rascal. His name is third on the far right hand column.

Enjoyed the Washington, DC pictures. We lived in Washington DC for 5 years and Christmas down town was magical. We visited the Mall and The White House area several times each Christmas. Thanks for bringing back great memories. BoJo
Nic pictures. I sat just about on the same spot as your wife at Lincoln's memorial in 1969.

Ciao John! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Buon Natale e Felice Anno Nuovo!
Hi John, Merry Xmas.
Beautiful DC photos!
I've been there for 9 times, but took pictures only in 3 of them... I posted some of Rock Creek, Kalorama and Woodley Parks at http://blogtrotta.blogspot.com/2005/12/washington-dc-after-911.html
I'll be posting the 1983 and 1984 photos at «Blogtrotter revival - the 80's», but they don't compare with yours...
