I had to make a quick business trip to Manila, Philippines. I arrived one day early to do some sightseeing. I hired a driver when I arrived and the first place I went to was the Taal Volcano. Taal Volcano is an active volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines It consists of an island in Lake Taal, which is situated within a caldera formed by an earlier very large eruption. The most recent volcanic activity of Taal Volcano lasted from 1965 to 1977.

There is very heavy traffic in Manila and you see lots of Jeepneys. Jeepneys were originally made from US military jeeps left over from World War II and are known for their colorful decoration and crowded seating.

The outside of my hotel, the Peninsula Manila. It is located on the corners of Ayala and Makati Avenues, in the heart of Metro Manila's business district.

The room in the Peninsula Manila was very nice and the service by the staff impeccable. Fresh fruit was brought into the room every morning and evening.
