Welcome to
Gimmelwald, a small village high in the Swiss Alps.
When Catherine and I left the peak of the
Schilthorn, we went halfway down the mountain to a small village called
Gimmelwald.
We spent the afternoon hiking around this village.

Mountain meadow near
Gimmelwald. The hills were covered in spring flowers.
I tried to get a picture of the cows on the mountainside, but the cows turned the wrong way!

In the background is the small school for the Swiss village of
Gimmelwald. There is a married couple in town that share the one teaching position for this village.
Catherine thinks the cows smell bad!
We loved seeing the cows and hearing their cow bells high in the alps.

We asked one of the guests outside if he thought it was O.K. for us to use the restroom inside Walter's Hotel Mittaghorg. He said the fellow that owns the place is a bit of a curmudgeon and the guest thought he would give us a hard time. So we continued to hike down to the village of Gimmelwald.
