The Smart Cars
Catherine and I have always liked seeing the little Smart Cars in Europe and now we found them in Quebec City!

The altar of Basilique Notre-Dame

The Basilique Notre-Dame is the oldest Christian parish north of Mexico. It has survived a history of bombardment. Parts of it, including the bell tower date from the original 1647 structure, but most of the interior is from reconstruction completed in 1771.

In the background note the Funiculaire. The Funiculaire connects Basse -Ville, the older part of Quebec City, to Haute-Ville, the part that is atop a steep cliff.

At Le Casse-Crepe Breton having crepes
This restaurant is on the Rue St. Jean. As you can see from this photo, our table had an open window over looking the street. The crepes were very good. They come with two to five ingredients. I had a desert type crepe stuffed with cream and fruit.
Another great meal at the Voodoo Grill, a restaurant near our hotel the Relais Charles-Alexander

The food at the Voodoo Grill was sort of an Asian fusion with local ingredients. The food was excellent and we would definitely return again.

Memorial to the Canadian war dead.
This memorial has the dates 1914 - 1918, 1939 - 1945, and 1950 -1953 with the inscriptions "To Our Glorious Dead" and "Je Me Souviens" which translates as "I Remember".
